NaNoWriMo has been rewarding in more ways than just one. Obviously, there's the sheer satisfaction of having challenged yourself to a duel and won, but also having a husband recognize all your hard work and dedication and reward you for it. I don't mean 'reward' as in privately, with the lights off, and the kids asleep, although that happened too. ;-) I'm talking publicly, at sunset, with the kids in the backseat, at staples on Black Friday. That's right ladies and gentleman, hubby bought me a new computer!
I feel like i have been on it for 24 hours straight. A 17.3 inch screen, 8gb (something), and 1TB of storage. Hey, I'm a writer, not a Best Buy employee. I can now hook up to my printer making editing much easier. My previous chrome book couldn't accommodate this. I mean am I crazy or is it just way easier to edit with pen to paper? Then, on top of all of this, he also purchased Scrivener for me and a steak dinner! I am the most spoiled person alive and the night wasn't over yet.
Upon returning home I checked the mail and my newest purchase from Hill's Peculiarities (an Etsy shop run by a fellow author) was laying in my mailbox. It has been a big week. Blue hair, new earrings, and a new computer with software. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend my time than creating new worlds and the people in them to fashion an escape for our brains from everyday life. What do you like to do to escape? Follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram and post comments to let me know. I SEE ALL.
